R.E.S.P.E.C.T.

Today the following two, not so unusual, events unfolded:
Already having a horrible day, this happened,
Event #1:
I was going to get an appeal form from the attendance office because I knew that I was going to be missing more school for even more doctors appointments. P.S. This appeal is for if you have absences due to doctors appointments or something then you can get those absences taken off of your transcript and not have to go to attendance school. So the lady got very frustrated with me and started nearly yelling at me because I wasn't quite over my limit of absences. I tried to explain to her that I knew that but I wanted some appeal forms so that I could have them filled out as soon as I was over because I knew that I would be gone for more dr. appointments in the near future. She said I would have to get a doctors note. I laughed and asked her, "from every doctor?" She said yes, so I told her I would get letters from all the 4 different doctors that I will have gone to by then. Then I tried to ask her for appeal forms again to see if I could just have them for when I need them. She again got upset with me and told me no because I wasn't over my limit. It didn't matter how many times I told her, she just didn't understand and kept treating me like I didn't know squat and that I stupid. BLEH I was so so so mad.
Now having an even worst day this happened,
Event #2:
So for those that don't know, I broke my phone. I haven't had it in quite a while now and it has been horrible. I then went to the verizon store to see if I could get a new phone. I went in expecting to be turned down and so that made me in an even worse mood. I went up to the desk, the lady was extremely nice and told me she would have another phone shipped....TOMORROW! I was so so so releaved and unbelievably happy. This lady then started talking to me asking if I was married or if I was still going to school. I told her that I was still 17 and a senior in high school. She was shocked, and explained to me that she had thought I was in my mid 20's.
I think that it's funny that the older you are the greater the level of respect you recieve. I mean think about it...the lady at school KNEW that I was a teen, The lady that helped me at verizon was extremely nice and thought that I was older. As I thought about that on the way home I could think of several examples where this point has been proved, and reproved. It's insane. I mean all I want is a little respect. R.E.S.P.E.C.T.! gosh!------------------but thanks to the verizon lady! she's the best.
